Elements 15 Text - horizontal spacing issue

I have been having issues with my text running together. The text in the picture should say "After a long day" but it is all running together as jibberish. I've tried changing the font, doing a preference reset, and enabling and adjusting the Asian text feature. I'm sure I have to be overlooking something simple but I cannot find a solution.

Since it has previously worked for you, try resetting the preferences file. Go to Edit>Preferences>General tab and click the Reset Preferences on next launch button.

This clean/safe $12 plugin will add tracking to your PSE 15 text (and many other things). Also keep in mind that PSE 2020 is 25% off until Sunday ($5 less than the upgrade). I presume 2020 kept this tracking feature the same as it was in 2019. Sorry I didn't have a simpler answer for you.

Thank you for the info I will research that. I was finally able to get it to cooperate by opening a previous document, typing my text, and dragging to the file I was working on.
