Elements 2018 crashing

Just bought Elements from Microsoft Store, installed in a new Windows 10 machine.

It crashes every time I try to open a PSD file.

It crashes every time I try to use the Create > Collage feature.

And now since starting this post trying to open Elements crashes the whole system.

Now it appears that Avast does not work with Elements, disabling Avast will allow Elements to open though it still crashes every time I use it.

Clicking on the Text Tool also crashes Elements consistently...
