Elements 2018 non-sticky crop settings

Is it possible to configure PSE 2018 to remember crop tool size settings? Sometimes the last settings I used are remembered but usually I have to type them in again for each image which is really annoying. Even PSE 2 used to do this correctly. Has anybody managed to get the crop tool settings to be sticky across images?

Edit: it seems that if you use one of the preset sizes it is remembered. But if you use 'No Restriction' and set custom pixel sizes, it resets to 'Use Photo Ratio' on opening the next image.

That will not help you, but for me, the settings are sticky both in the same session or in a new one.

Did you try to reset your preferences?

Resetting preferences doesn't seem to help. All the other tools and also the grid overlay settings in the crop tool seem to be sticky. It's just the size that resets to the new image when a file is opened.

Let us see if other users have the same problem. When I open a new picture in a new session, everything is available. What is shown is 'custom' and the dimensions are kept. I am not sure if the resolution is always kept, I think that in one try it was left greyed out.
