Question

Elements 2020 too old for Camera Raw 16.3?

I am unable to open Raw photos from a new Nikon Z8 (latest version software as at May 2024) despite having uploaded Camera Raw 16.3.1.    Is Adobe Elements 2020 unable to support Camera Raw 16.3.1?

Did you download and install the latest Camera Raw, as instructed in the link provided by Jeff Arola?  If you did, the latest camera raw plug-in file will be found in the following directory:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\File Formats

For Elements 2020, make sure you copy the plug-in file (Camera raw.8bi) to the following directory:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 18\File Formats

In addition to downloading/installing camera raw 16.3.1, you need to follow these instructions to get camera raw 16.3.1 to work with Photoshop Elements 2020.
