Elements 2022 auto-created a multi-picture (50) collage but I can use only 8.

When trying to update 2022 elements I keep getting an error message " You need a new app to open this auphd link".

@Jeff Arola, the Elements Web Creations feature is also limited to 8 images.

I found it.  It's the old "Microsoft Research AutoCollage 2008.

As far as the collage goes, that could be from Elements Web

https://elements.adobe.com/creations

There is a button at the bottom the photoshop elements workspace labeled Open Elements Web

Interesting.  Sometimes, Adobe pushes out new templates (without any fanfare).   I will check to see if anything like you are describing appears in my auto-creations.  Can you provide a screenshot?

I would send a screenshot but it contains portions of 50 personal photos that I’m not willing to share with the world. Nothing off-color, just personal photos.

In looking at my post I can understand why you were confused. The question about the app to open the auphd link was an old post and completely unrelated to the collage issue.
Also the reference to me only able to use 8 was also confusing. I meant to say that when I create a collage I can only use 8 images, which I know is the current limit.

Thanks for your interest.

You can always make your own collages using clipping masks.

I've found the auto creations to be of little value- and a memory hog as it does it's thing in the background--- the auto creations are good for quick and dirty creations you just wanna make and share in a hurry-----of course there is always that 8 image limit.

Adobe express (WHICH IS FREE) has 1824 FREE TEMPLATES TOO--- well worth a look.

@geraldh80329733, I'm not sure exactly what you are asking.  The title and body of the thread have different issues.

I don't think Elements has ever been able to auto-create a 50 image collage.  The limit is currently 8.

As for updating Elements 2022, other than the error message, what exactly is the problem?  And what OS are you using?

Check here to see which version of Elements you should have on your computer.  If you are still having trouble updating to the correct build, try uninstalling the program and then reinstall Elements 2022, using the download found here.  This will install the most up to date version.  Note that Elements 2023 found on that webpage is a different program that you have to purchase.  It is not an "update" of Elements 2022.

I know it sounds crazy, but a couple of days ago I found a message that there was an auto-created collage for me to look at. It was full screen with about 50 miniature pictures all folded together across the screen. The images faded and overlapped into one another with no borders on them.

It looked a lot like the old 2008 Microsoft AutoCollage, except with the Microsoft image each picture within it had a white border and you could click on each picture and it would pull that picture out of the pile so you could look at each picture without it being overlapped with any other picture in the group. Also you could only use 25 pictures instead of the 50 used for the one I got.

Like I said, crazy, but wonderful! 😀
