Elements 2022 won't open

Using Photoshop Elements 2022 with Windows 11. Suddenly, the only way I can open the program is by clicking on a photo in my files; it won't open when I click on the icon. Elements Premiere opens just fine when I click on the icon.

Hi @jcm48,

In addition to trying out the suggestions shared by Greg, can you also check if Photoshop Elements is running in the Task Manager? If so, please end that task and try launching the application again from the Home Screen.

Let us know if these steps worked for you or if you'd need further assistance to resolve this issue.

Regards,

Which icon are you talking about - the main Desktop icon or the Editor icon in the Home Screen?

If you are unable to get to the Home Screen, what happens if you navigate to the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 2022 folder and double-click on the Adobe Photoshop Elements 2022 shortcut?

If you are talking about opening the Editor from the Home Screen, what happens if you double-click on the PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe file in the same folder?  If this works, you can right-click on the file and create a new desktop icon by selecting Send To>Desktop (create shortcut).
