Elements 2023 Restore issue with RAW

On my Windows. 10 laptop I have done a full backup of my Catalog and photos which was held on my external hard drive d to another hard external hard drive X. I have done a full restore from the External hard drive X to the C drive of my new Windows 11 laptop. The restore partially worked but a message stated it could not restore the RAW CR3 files and to  install the Camera Raw which I have done.

How do I now restore those RAW the Restore missed?
Thanks

No need to delete the first restore.  It should just add the missing raw files.  (But I am a little puzzled why the restore did not include the raw files and simply fail to display the thumbnails.)

If that doesn't work, then yes, delete everything and start the restore over again.

Restore the backup again, but make sure you restore to exactly the same new location as you restored the first time and also make sure that you Restore the Original Folder Structure if that is in fact how you made the original restored catalog.

Presumably I need to delete the first restore?

Just to be clear the RAW photos themselves didn't Restore so are not showing in the Catalog

This may help.  The raw images are still there, they just are not visible.... yet....some tweaking to do.

You have to install ACR, to make sure everything is good to go.  without ACR installed, you will have issues seeing raw thumbnails.

Download and install the latest Camera Raw version from https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html

Quit all Adobe applications.

On macOS, double-click the .dmg file to mount it.

On Windows double-click the downloaded .zip file to unzip it.
(Windows might unzip the file for you.)

On macOS, double-click the .pkg file to start the installer.

On Windows, double-click the resulting .exe file to start the installer.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

Once installed successfully, close the installer window.

 Navigate to the following folder:

On macOS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/CC/File Formats

On Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\File Formats

Copy the Camera Raw plug-in (just the .8bi file) from the CC > File Formats folder that is mentioned in the above step.

Navigate to the following folder:

On macOS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/Elements<Version Number>/File Formats

On Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements<Version Number>\File Formats

Replace the existing Camera Raw plugin in Elements<Version Number> folder with the plug-in that you copied earlier.

I have installed ACR but the RAW images themselves have not restored as I checked on the C drive my photos itself outside Elements catalog.

I am wondering whether I need to delete the whole restore and do it again now that ACR is there. I checked ACR is working by importing a RAW image and it read it fine
