Elements 2023, windows 11. get photos from card reader. no valid files found

I have downloaded elements 2023 on windows 11. When I try to get photos off of my memory card. I have a message pop up that says "no valid files found"

Are you trying to download raw files from the card?  If so, have you installed Camera Raw from the Help menu?

    No, I have not installed camera raw. I will have to find out what camera raw is. Thanks
