Yes, of course. As it turns out they were able to resolve the printer issue! I was resolved to abandon Adobe altogether, but your encouragement to contact support made all the difference.
I let the support person take control of my computer, and over the course of an hour they downloaded and ran the installation package for my Epson printer, installed a couple of Windows updates, uninstalled a few Windows updates, and "that was all there was to it".
I tried asking him what the problem was, but his english was a bit weak; here is the most relavent part of his answer:
"In the recent Windows update, there might be a glitch that your Epson driver was get removed. It was only with Epson printer. But if you update Windows in future you will not face it as Window will also improve it as most of the users reported the same."
Basically I think he was saying that a Windows update removed the printer driver, that it only happened with Epson printers, and that Microsoft has been alerted so they will certainly fix their update code. I don't know how to square that with the fact that I could use the printer in all programs except the Elements Editor.
