Elements 2024 crashes when trying to print

I am using Elements 2024.0, Windows 11.  When I click File | Print... Elements crashes.  It does not hang and does not give any error messages.  The print dialog does not appear.  I have rebooted computer and printer, reset the preferences on next launch, etc.  I tried running as administrator.

Another user said that I should update to 2024.3, but can not find it, and when I click Help the Updates... item is grayed out.

Yes, of course.  As it turns out they were able to resolve the printer issue!  I was resolved to abandon Adobe altogether, but your encouragement to contact support made all the difference.

I let the support person take control of my computer, and over the course of an hour they downloaded and ran the installation package for my Epson printer, installed a couple of Windows updates, uninstalled a few Windows updates, and "that was all there was to it".

I tried asking him what the problem was, but his english was a bit weak; here is the most relavent part of his answer:

"In the recent Windows update, there might be a glitch that your Epson driver was get removed. It was only with Epson printer. But if you update Windows in future you will not face it as Window will also improve it as most of the users reported the same."

Basically I think he was saying that a Windows update removed the printer driver, that it only happened with Epson printers, and that Microsoft has been alerted so they will certainly fix their update code.  I don't know how to square that with the fact that I could use the printer in all programs except the Elements Editor.

Thank you again Greg, your involvement saved the day!

Thanks for letting us know.  Several other users have had similar problems recently.  Your feedback will help us point them in the right direction.

You are still eligible for support for Elements 2024.  You can start a chat session by going to the Contact Adobe Support page. (https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen) Make sure you are signed into your Adobe account and try typing Agent when the chat window opens. (If you use my link, the chat window should open automatically.)

Thanks so much for that!  I have never had need to contact support before and was unclear how to do that.

As I have explained in your other post, you probably already have Elements 2024.3.  Try resetting the preferences file. Go to the Edit>Preferences>General tab and click the Reset Preferences on next launch button.  That usually fixes printer issues.

My installed version is 2024.0, the same as in your screen shot.  I have tried resetting preferences and uninstalled PSE and reinstalled.  Since I can print from within Organizer (as well as other programs) the problem certainly seems to be within the Editor (or something that was done or not done correctly during the installation process).

I have no idea where to turn for help other than here.

I should have said that I can print just fine from any other program including the Elements Organizer, so it is NOT the printer or driver.
