Elements 24 keeps freezing in photo editor.

freezing only occurs in editor.    Always happens when I am editing photos.  Does not happen on opening photo but will usually occur when I have almost finished.  Extremely frustrating as I have to close my laptop down which results in loss of all the editing to my photo.   I have tried multiple suggested fixes,to no avail.  My Dell laptop meets all the necessary requirements for installing Elements.
