Elements 24 Not accepting NEF [RAW] images

Updating from Elements 15 which accepted NEF [Nikon RAW] images without any problem  they don't seem to be recognised by Elements 24.   They download in to Windows Pictures from the SD card but then are not recognised by Organiser. Works fine for jpg files.  Info says Elements 24 will process RAW files  but that is dfficult if it won't accept them !  This could all just be my ineptitude but any advice on how to load these files would be appreciated.

I've solved this myself.  Discovering that it required a separate installation available under the HELP menu as 'Install Camera Raw'

My only problem now is that there are even more unlabelled thumbnail images jammed in to the Organiser screen which is quite impossible to work with in its current form.  Can I re-install just the Organiser section from Elements 15  to give  me a sensibly laid out library screen separating images and providing file name & date ?  Or is everybody out there happy with their images jam packed on the screen without visible labelling ?

Thank you for the post, same problem and you had the answer. when I down loaded via help the second line said default setting so I went with it, tried a card still no result untill I went back to help to redown load and came up with my computers hard drive address instead of default. initial down load at least 30 minutes, second almost instant. You did  what Adobe seams un cappable of, fix there own problem!

I have just answered your second problem.

Now, do you see many unlabelled thumbnails  or thumbnails with a question mark?
