I have photoshop Elements 5.0 on my old computer.  I wish to transfer the software to my laptop. Have successfully copied the software but it will not open.  I think it is asking for an account name or number.  I have a 20 number account but not a 24 number account  (I think this was created in 2006?

If you originally registered your product the serial number will be stored in your Adobe Account.

Sign in with your Adobe ID (email address & password) and choose the tab “Plans & Products”

Then view your products. Every registered application should be shown with serial numbers.

To see a list of your registered products and their serial numbers, go to My Account

    Sorry 99jon,

I have never been able to retrieve the product key  of my old registered applications: Elements 2,4,5 and 6 on my Adobe account.

Only the ulterior versions, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 are available in my account. I have still the original CD and product key. I have reinstalled PSE6 which is still available now on Windows 10. I even re-installed version 5 for testing catalog conversion, but I have not kept it.

Hi Michel, when I log in and go to Plans & Products and then click to view my products I can see a complete list including PSE5. The only one missing is PSE6 which perhaps I forgot to register as I think it came pre-installed with a new computer. Click image below.

    David,

As far as I know, you must have both your original drive (or a copy) and your original 24 digits product key. The 20 digits shown in the help file are not enough. I don't think you can recover it by going to your Adobe account. On the other hand, version 5 is a very old one and even if it's possible to install it on recent computers and OS versions, most people have difficulties with the program.
