Question

Elements 7

I purchased and installed Elements 7 several years ago. It has been working very well until a few days ago. It locks up when I try to open any of the options at the start up screen. I tried all the trouble shooting answers I could find with no success. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it using the original disk. I no longer have the product key. ( didn't know I needed it after original installation). I got a "generic" key from a forum and it let me install the program. The program still will not open. Same issue as before. Any suggestions? Is the program no longer supported?

I did ask the same question in live chat and was sent to this discussion. Chat is passed below.

Thank you,

Jim S

When you ask a question you need to provide some basic information

    -Forum quick start https://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-5601

Mac or Windows, and EXACTLY which version of the operating system?

Recent Mac AND Windows operating systems have been known to cause "odd" problems

Are you using a computer Administrator account with full read/write permission?

What is the exact error message that you see?

Is this where you got your "generic" number?

CS2 + Acrobat 7 + Audition 3 (AND EARLIER) Activation Server is gone, so read below

    https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html?promoid=19SCDRQK

You MUST use the special version and serial number on the page, not your original disc or serial number
