Elements and Pictures file

When I open a photo in the Pictures file it automatically opens in Elements. Can I turn that off? I want to sort through my photos in the Pictures file without them going to Elements. Then I can choose which photos to to export to Elements. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to change the file associations of your photo files such as .jpg files so that they open in Windows Photos. See this article for instructions.

However, I recommend that you import the files into the Organizer first and delete the files from the catalog.
