Elements Eight installed on PC with Windows 7 (has display problems)

I loaded Elements 8 into a new laptop that is running Windows 7 Home Premium (2009).  Installation went OK, but when Elements 8 is opened, the icons on my desktop and the home page of Elements is greatly expanded.

When Elements is closed, my desktop icons return to normal size.

Can you please help me?

Nothing changed from the Elements 8 side, what did change is the new high definition display technology in your new laptop.

Those screens display up to four times the number of pixels in the same area as your former display. Those HiDpi display appeared after Elements 8 was released. They are only supported from Elements 13.1 on.

So, you'll have to use the Microsoft Windows option to set your display resolution lower, something less than the common 1920 x 1080 HDTV resolution. You can also plug in an external monitor for more comfortable editing at home.
