Elements freezes when trying to use Adjust color for skin tone

Was using Elements 2021. Macbook Pro 16 updated to Sonoma 14.1.1. After that whenever I try to use the "Adjust Color for Skin Tone" the Elements app freezes up and I need to Force quit to recover. I have seen the like before after an update and I moved to a new Elements, in this case I updated to 2024, and it fixed it. However, this time even 2024 version freezes. Any fixes?

Appears to be fixed with the macOS Sonoma 14.3 update.

The issue still persists on mine. It is an Apple pro MacBook Pro on M1 chip. I've completely deleted it reinstalled the latest from the Adobe site and my Mac is fully up-to-date yet it still happens.

john212,

Your Mac is updated to macOS Sonoma 14.3.1 or what macOS are you using?

What version of Photoshop Elements do you have?

Hello @Dave339168359vpk,

This issue is specific to macOS Sonoma and we're working with Apple to resolve it. For now, can you please try this feature in the Quick workspace and see if this helps?

I have the the same freezing problem as @Dave339168359vpk  but with a Mini M2 Pro, Sonoma 14.2.1.  And yes, after a brief try in the Quick workspace, it worked fine.  Will still wait for a fix for Advanced mode.

Also, the unpredictable/flaky effect of Shadows/Highlights seems to work fine in Quick mode too.  Related issue?

Hi @espressomac,

This issue is fixed in the latest update of macOS Sonoma (14.2.1). Please try the feature in the Advanced workspace and check if it's working fine for you now.
