Elements help with sizing

I have just purchased Elements and see that when I import my photos from my iMac that they import at a much smaller size and are therefore extremely pixelated. How do I import at actual size? Would be grateful for any help, have been messing about with this for hours!

What happens if you double-click on an image to make it full screen?

And then what happens if you update the thumbnail (from the Edit menu)?

Sounds to me like you are talking about the image thumbnail, and not the image. Please post a screenshot of whatyou are talking about.
