Elements is Stuck - Cannot Move it Or Change Its Size

Hello everyone,

I'm running Photoshop Elements 2025 on a 2021 MacBook Pro with Apple M1 chip. I have an external monitor connected to the MB.  When I open Elements, the screen opens on the external monitor and is "stuck" to the top of the monitor.  I cannot move Elements to my laptop screen, nor am I able to drag a corner or side of the screen to make it larger or smaller or change its shape.   All commands within Elements do what they should, but Elements itself doesn't respond to the dragging arrow.  The problem is present whether I use a mouse or the trackpad.  Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Thanks!

The Photoshop Elements 2025 Editor can be resized by clicking and dragging by the area where the Red, Yellow and Green buttons are to move the application away from being Maximized on the screen, then when you drag one of the application corners you need to drag just ouside the application window.

For whatever reason on the Mac side, unlike previous Photoshop Elements versions, the resize arrows don't appear when trying to resize the application nor do they appear when trying to resize various panels like Layers or History.

On your MacBook if you go to Apple>System Settings>Displays and beside Use as you should be able to set your MacBook as the Main display so Photoshop Elements 2025 opens on the Built-in Display.

You can drag Photoshop Elements 2025 between displays by clicking and dragging on the very dark gray area where the

Red, Yellow and Green buttons are, then click on the Green Maximize button to fit Photoshop Elements 2025 to the screen.

Hello Bojan,

Thanks for responding to my post.  However, in place of your answer I found a notice refering me to the "Photoshop Elements Forum".    I Googled "Photoshop Elements Forum" and followed a link, but I found the same referral there.   The good news is that one of your fellow Community Experts provided me with a solution.  But how to reach the correct Forum is still a mystery.

Best,

Joshua.

Good morning,  Jeff,

Thanks for taking time to reply.  I've implemented your suggestions and Elements is now more cooperative.   Case closed!
