If the problem continues and you can launch Editor go to Preferences.

 

Choose to re-set preferences on next launch.

 

Then quit & re-start.

Is this happening with tthe Editor, Organizer, Home app or all?

It happened to ALL. Could not get anything to open. That was yesterday.
Today Photoshop opened but kept freezing when trying to unload images from
a memory card ) to add new images ). It also kept freezing when searching
for images. Today, I closed out the program and opened it again. Things
worked for awhile. I am out of Photoshop Elements for now. Have no idea if
it will open the next time I want to use it.
