Question

Elements organiser (Windows 11 version) always crashes

Every time I load elements organiser (22) it crashes.  I have completed the troubleshooter actions (took ages) - still crashes 30 seconds after it loads - and until it crashes - it freezes.

I have repaired / optimised the catalogue 40+ times

Still nothing

Any suggestions please?

Try contacting Elements support. You can start a chat session by clicking on the blue Contact Us button under the Support menu at Adobe.com. Or you can contact Support by telephone using the numbers listed here: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/phone.html.

And if you hold the Shift key while launching the Organizer, the Catalog Manager will open.  Create a new empty catalog and see if the program remains stable.
Next, go to Edit>Preferences>Media Analysis and uncheck all of the boxes.  Close and relaunch the program.  Then go to File>Manage Catalogs and select and open the problem catalog.

One othe question - have you been working with a converted catalog or a newly created one?

Thank you for your replies Ranjisha and  Greg

I have 49K items in my catalogue. I have made 5 different catalogues in elements organiser 22, and not converted any of them. I have a selection of photo and video files - mainly jpegs and AVI, with some PSDs, MP4s and raw files

They are on an internal drive (which I have checked for errors)

I have tried all of the steps on this webpage

Troubleshoot system errors, freezes, and crashes in Photoshop Elements (adobe.com)

apart from step 11. This was designed for win XP, and does not seem to make sense with win 11

I have just reinstalled the app for the 4th time - and it still crashes

I have done this too . going  to Edit>Preferences>Media Analysis and uncheck all of the boxes.  Close and relaunch the program.  Then go to File>Manage Catalogs and select and open the problem catalog.

Sometimes it will go for a minute without crashing, normally it crashes more quickly. Usually the programme just freezes and stops, but sometimes I get the BSOD, and windows restarts.

This is the only programme that I use that is unstable - my system does not crash with anyother programmes

Hi there,

Sorry about the trouble with Element Organiser. We're here to help.

How many media files are there in your catalog? What is the format of the images you are working with?

Where are the images located (Internal drive or External drive)?

What all troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

After updating your system, did you re-installed the app or not? If you have not tried it yet, please re-install it.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Ranjisha
