Question

Elements Organizer 2019 with Mapbox not Google Maps

Does anyone know if Adobe have now moved away from using Google Maps in Elements Organizer? I've just downloaded the 2019 trial at it appears that the Place tab is using Mapbox. I know Adobe had some issues with Google a while back leading to one of the recent versions not being able to display the maps in the Places tab. Maybe I shouldn't care which maps are used but I do prefer Google Maps so just wondering if anyone knows if this is a permanent move by Adobe away from Google?

Hi,

Google Maps recently changed how map data is delivered to applications like Photoshop Elements & has put a few restrictions which impacts the functionality.

We have now partnered with Mapbox, a leading maps provider, to offer tagging & searching by location functionality within Elements.

Thanks

Does this mean that the maps will stop working in previous Photoshop Elements versions such as 2018 that use Google Maps?

Hi,

We are still working on this to evaluate all the possible solutions and shall be able to give you more information about this once the evaluations are done.

Thanks
