Elements Organizer 2024 thumbnails greyed out

I installed Organizer 2024 (Windows 11) and imported my photo files to a new catalog.  All the files appeared normally. Then I exited from Organizer and restarted it.  All the files now show as grey rectangles with a folded down corner. I have created new catalog several times and delete the old.  I continue to have to same problem.

@Pat Freel can you confirm that the problem was with not installing ACR for the raw files?

I note that you have the files sorted by file name and you have the folders in list view.

How did you import the photos into your catalog?  How many photos have been imported?  (The number should appear in the lower left status bar.  Make sure no files are selected - press Shift+Ctrl+A)

Have you scrolled through the grid and are all the photos showing the same generic grey icon?

What happens if you Sort by Newest or Oldest?  Also click on the down arrow next to the My Folders panel and change the view to Tree View.

Once you are in Tree View, click on any of the folders in the tree that you know contain photos.  Please provide a screenshot of what you see - include the whole window in your screenshot.

Are these raw files?  If so, you need to download ACR separately from the Help menu.

What happens if you update the thumbnails?  (Select a file and press Ctrl+Shift+U)

Did you upgrade from a prior version?  If so, why are you creating a new catalog rather than converting the old one?

These are 90% JPG files.

Update does nothing

This is a totally new installation. I never used organizer in the past.
