Elements Organizer 22 loses date range for all photos

I have just added photos from March 23 and the date range of all photos failed. On closer inspection the very first photo has a date in March 2000. Only when I changed the date to April did the range reappear.

See 2 images, one with date in March 2000 the other date in April 2000.

Altering the date is not a solution. Please advise.
