Adobe team: After an hour of trying to connect to two phones (Samsung Note 5 and S7+, using END TASK from task mgr; I noticed the Photo Downloader was operating as the CPU meter was changing from 0 to 2% usage.  After waiting over 10 min, it started counting up to over 6000 photos and then upon launch, successfully downloaded images and placed in appropriate named folders.  It works awesome BUT I would strongly suggest changing your CONNECTING...PLEASE WAIT UI to a percentage meter (even if the percentage is not real).  As long as the percentage continues to slowly change, the user would know its still working and not worry that is has frozen and they are wasting their time.  Just a suggestion.  Love it now that its connected.  Hoping the next time, it recognizes NEW photos much more quickly!

You can improve that performance a bit if you get a "data cable" specific to your device.  I believe Adobe depends on port drivers that are specific to your hardware and OS, rather than providing its' own.  Because they started out partnered with Apple more closely than Microsoft, sometimes performance under Windows is poor.  I wend to Settings, Apps, Startup, and disabled their automatic utility.  Under Windows with most smart phones, you can copy files from the device using File Manager much faster you just don't get all the support Photo Downloader provides.

You need to address Adobe directly:

I would be happy if I could figure out how to stop "automatic photo downloading" when I plug my phone in to my computer via USB port.  I inadvertently set it up when I was upgrading Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements from a previous version, and now I can't figure out how to stop it from detecting when my phone gets plugged into my Windows 10 computer.
