Elements screen problems-the choices under each topic are invisible until the cursor touches them?

In my version of elements 18, the choices under the topics remain invisible until the cursor touches them.  The basic screen color is an aqua blue, and the drop down choices are a very light yellow making them invisible.  How can I change this?  Otherwise the program works fine.
