Enhance>Adjust Lighting in PSE 14 question

I often need to adjust the shadows/highlights in my photos. I've discovered that somehow, PSE 14 is automatically adjusting the Brighten Shadows slider to 35% when I go to Enhance>Adjust Lighting>Shadows/Highlights.

I don't remember setting it to 35%. In fact, I am not aware that you can set anything like that. Maybe I did it by mistake?

In any event, I would prefer it were around 28-30%. IF there is indeed a way to set this up, can someone please advise?

Thank you!

The 35% is the Default setting of the Shadow/Highlights adjustment and unfortunately can't be changed in photoshop elements.

If photoshop elements would allow saving of presets like it's big sister photoshop, then yes you could change the Default setting.

Thanks for your help!

I didn't know you could save presets in PS (which I also have but apparently am only using a tiny bit of its capabilities!).

Can you send me a link showing me how to do that? Thank you so much.

In photoshop most of the adjustments like Shadow/Highlights have the ability to save/load presets or set new Defaults.

The Shadow/Highlights has both.
