Question

EPS Files Outdated?

I have been trying to utilize an eps version of my logo because I often want to have a transparent background. If Photoshop Elements and other programs aren't recognizing EPS these days, what do you use in very basic programs if you want your image background to be transparent? Thank you!

(I am not a designer or, apparently, very tech savvy anymore).

It is a little disappointing that photoshop elements dropped support for eps and ai files, since there are thousands of those still out there.

Photoshop elements even includes some ai pattern files in the Presets>Patterns>postscript patterns folder that it can't even

    open anymore.

The png file format can have background transparency and is supported by just about every image editor or viewer out there or you

could also use the pdf format, which supports vector files and transparency if your saving your logo out of an drawing app like illustrator.

Photoshop elements supports both png and pdf.
