I have PSE 14. I see the instructions of how to resolve this issue, but I am not tech savvy and I don't want to mess something else up on my computer. I have been on hold for 2 1/2 hours so far tonight  and was on hold last night for about the same amount of time. I feel that this is something that Adobe should should create a download update to fix, as there seems to be a lot of people that are having the same problem. Is there a resolution in the works? My business depends on me being able to edit photos and I have spent enough time on this matter.

    Nancy,

Thousands of users already had the same trouble in PSE14, PSE15 and PSE2018 because Microsoft issued an update (Windows 10 (1803)) which no longer enables older softwares to work on it. No change has been made in the code of your Elements, your operating system has been changed and Microsoft does not allow moving back to the previous version which worked.

It's pretty naive to believe some sort of quick patch can automatically solve the issue. Adobe has immediately issued the registry edit workaround, which is free and has solved the problem for thousands of normal users who never knew anything about the registry. It takes two minutes. The risk is that some have not made the edit correctly, which did no harm  but did not solve the issue... until they corrected the wrong edits. The same change in Windows created similar issues in Photoshop (the monthly subscription model). It took Adobe two months to reprogram Photoshop to work with the new update. That will not happen with the 14,15 and 2018 Elements versions, everybody expects the next 2019 version to solve this problem. Remember that only the current version (2018) is supported by Adobe. With PSE14 ou have been very lucky to get phone help for 2 and a half hours! The only help they can provide except repeating the same workaround would be to take hold of your computer by remote control. They have done that to a number of 2018 users, but that's not realistic for the number of users with the issue.

    So, don't dream, act.

I am quite sure you can get help from other friends or family members, even teenagers .

Don't trust so-called pros or IT experts who will try anything to avoid editing the registry.

(And no, I don't work for Adobe. I don't blame Microsoft either for trying to update the OS, I blame them for making nearly impossible to roll back the update until a definitive fix is found by either Microsoft or Adobe).
