    Hi Bob,

    Thank you for your response.

I have had so much trouble with updates that I have kicked Adobe in to touch. Apart from the free Adobe Reader, I have got rid of everything else relating to Adobe on the Mac. I am now using Pixelmator instead of Photoshop Elements. The updates just work. Preview on the Mac will more than compensate for immediate viewing of JPG and PDF files.

Still no mention of whether Akamai is an integral part of the successful update magic. It was installed, but as I did not know what it did, I got rid during a clean-out in May. The company Akamai have not been helpful in the least to try and help. I understand that it may be part of an Adobe trial download, but clearing out and downloading Photoshop Elements 2014 from the original CD (which was not considered genuine!) and Elements 2018 including the trial Premiere programs in each instance brought no further comfort.

As a personal user, I cannot really afford the time to keep trying and failing.

Thank you for your time in replying.

    Regards,

    Michael
