External hard drives for organizer. Can it be on separate hard drives or needs to be all on one? Thank you

I have 1 TB on my mac so wish to place PS organizer on external hard drives. Can it be separated or must be all on one. ie two 2TB or all on 1 4TB?

I think you mean storing your media files on one or several external drives? No problem, it's your choice. Remember the media files are not stored in the organizer or in the catalogs. The catalogs only contain links to the physical location on your drives.

A catalog can manage all your media files even if they are on different drives.

In the menu Help >> System Information you get the location of the catalog. To get the total size, search for that location in your Explorer and check the size of the folder. The thumbnail cache (thumb.5.cache) is the biggest component.
