Face Recognition Problem

Greetings,

Every time I install a new version, the automatic face recognition doesn't recognize the people that I've already tagged. I have installed 2018, and it didn't recognise the people I've tagged in version 15. The People > UnNamed tab shows hundreds of faces. Trying to get rid of the duplicates is difficult, because I have to go back to the Media tab to verify that the person is properly tagged. If they are, then there are two circles over their face: one which shows their name, and the other which says "add name". Trying to select the correct circle takes several attempts.

Is there any way to fix this? As a work-around I've clicked Edit > Preferences > Media-Analysis and cleared the "Run Face Recognition Automatically" option.
