Faulty brush sampling in Elements 2022

I recently bought Elements 2022 for Mac. When I use the healing brush, only the central portion of the sampled area is transferred to the new location. I have the same issue with the paint brush. I never had this problem with Elements 15 which I used previously. Any fix suggestions?

Go to Apple>System Preferences>Accessibility>Display>Pointer and make sure the Pointer size is set to Normal

Try resetting preferences to default.

Go to Edit>Preferences>General and click on reset on next launch.

I didn't try it as a different suggestion has worked for me.
