I just bought Adobe PSE 2024 today, and I am trying to figure out how to access some of the features. I've used Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Photoshop Elements in the past, just previous versions. I am not able to select to add or view or do anything with layers. If I have a selection, I am unable to copy or do anything with it. I am also unable to turn on or off the 'windows' for viewing.

I've also checked, and my mode is set to RGB, not to Indexed Color. I saw some people say to change from 16 bit to 8 bit, but I don't see how to do this in this version.

And I'm not sure what you mean by turning windows on/off for viewing. You can hide the tool panels by using the Tab key.

@Susan384127539iyb , the Layers panel is not available in Quick Mode which, as you have seen, only has a limited number of commands available.

Thanks! Going into advanced mode helped the turning on/off windows as well. For example, being able to see/unsee the layer window.

You are in Quick Mode. You need to be in Advanced Mode.
