file comes in a small box not in work area

file doesn't come into the work area but in a separate box in the upper left hand corner above the program. Anybody know what to do or why this is now happening? I'm using PSE 15 and Windows 10.

It's a known issue which appeared after the latest Windows 10 (1803) upgrade If you have chosen the preference to 'edit in floating windows in expert mode.

The workaround which works for me and other users is to keep the shit key pressed while opening your files.

I am having the same problem as are many of my friends. I think it is a PSE problem that needs to be addressed by Adobe. It maybe interaction between PSE and Windows 10 as it started after a Windows 10 upgrade. It does it with my PSE 15 but not with my PSE 10.

How do we get Adobe’s attention on this issue?
