Filter camera distortion correction shows rasterized image

Hello, I am currently taking an exam and have to edit an image with Photoshop Elements using the "Correct camera distortion" filter. When I switch on the filter, a rasterized image appears that does not correspond to the actual photo. I have attached an image. Does anyone know this effect and can tell me how to fix it?
Many thanks in advance!

This looks like the result of an unsupported GPU.

You need to tell which is your exact:

- OS (Mac, Windows) and OS version

- your exact Elements version

Hi Michel, it's the latest Version of Mac OS (Sonoma) and Photoshop Elements 2021

thanks Michel

That's what I suspected.

The Sonoma OS is not compatible with previous Mac versions. You would need a more recent PSE version: PSE 2023 or PSE 2024.

To read more about that Apple issue, specify " Mac Sonoma" in the text search box to find dozens of discussions on that topic.
