filter will not work?

Question

I used a filter. It was the pixalate filter to extrude. It worked just fine but the blocks were a little too small. I wanted to do it again but now the filter will not work,  I can not change the size of the distortion because the image I'm working on will not change. I do not know why the filter will not let me use the distortion thing again?  The layer was locked so I unlocked it, still nothing works. I tried saving the image, closing it out and re-opening the image. Still nothing works? Any help?

I must apoligize. I was trying to use the wrong filter. I got it right now, thanks.

Which pixelate filter are you talking about?

Did you save the file with the filter applied and you are then trying to apply the filter again?

What is the resolution and ppi of the image?

Does the filter dialog not work or is it that you are not seeing any change in the image?

Screenshots would be useful.
