Finding Good, Free Photos to Practice With

I recently purchased Elements 2023 and am now trying to learn it on my own, as well as using the great videos found on YouTube. However, almost all of the photos found on the internet are set to 72 ppi, which makes them too small and pixelated to work with. Is there a place where I can find free photos that have higher resolution so I can practice all of the different tools on Elements?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I assume that you mean Elements 2022 which is the latest released version of Elements. As you have already been told, the ppi of a file is almost irrelevant unless you are printing a photo file.  However, the resolution of the file (number of pixels in height and width) may be important for certain editing tools and possibly for some of the Artificial Intelligence that is available in Elements.

You can also look for the free images on Adobe Stock. It's immaterial is the ppi is 72. What is the W and H in pixels?

Since you are using Photoshop Elements, I have moved this from the Photoshop forum where you posted.

Hi Jane. Thanks for sending me in the right direction. Do people in the Elements forum have more need for high-res photos than those in the Photoshop forum?

I don't use Photoshop Elements, so I am not the best one to answer that. You do, and you are in need of high-res images, and I suppose you are a typical user.

The ppi (pixels per inch) only matters when you are going to print. It makes no difference for online viewing or for practice in editing files online. The important things is how many pixels for the width and how many for the height, which you did not answer.

I hope this helps.

Jane
