FIRST UPDATE TO PSE 2026

Looks like the first update to pse 2026 was issued a bit ago today.   I've downloaded it, and ran it twice.   The only thing it did  was change it to lite mode, from the dark mode I had.  Fixes included that business with the feather slider not working.

I still had the same original pse 2026 dated 0915 (Septempber 15th)- version 26.0, after the update it should have been 2026.1, and it is not.

Anyone else have this issue?   I got no problem unistalling it, the update as I used it was rather small.

mikegunnill,

You want to go to Applications/Utilities and open up Activity Monitor, then double click on the name of the process and in the dialog that follows click Quit.

I tried to download 26.1 today for Adobe Elements 2026. I received an error code 131. I followed these instructions, <close CCLibrary/Creative Cloud Content Manager/Adobe Content Synchroniser/Node.

I couldn't find <Activity Monitor for macOS to close the above background processes.

I am using the latest mac software, Tahoe 26.1

Grateful for help and assistance please?  Thank you

So far for us on two Windows 11 25H2 machines the 26.1 update has major install issues.

This is with the update you get when you start the Photoshop Elements 2026 Editor and a dialog appears that says there is a new update.

After the update it launches the Home Screen where upon clicking on the Photo Editor button fails to start the Adobe Photoshop Elements 2026 Editor. Clicking on the Organizer button comes up with a message about missing utilities

and that a reinstall is required.

The only fix was to uninstall Photoshop Elements 2026 then use the installer from my account to reinstall Photoshop Elements 2026, which successfully installed the updated 26.1 version and everything then worked.

That's the route  I went to see what  I looks good so far.

Of course, I first logged out of PSE 2026.0 before I uninstalled it.

I downloaded and installed from the update page without uninstalling prior beta build.  Only the Organizer splash screen has changed, not the Editor's.

I shall try again with a fresh uninstall-reinstall.

ADDED: A fresh install from the link on the update page installs the original build.

Hi all,

The update is being rolled out gradually in a phased manner, so it takes some time for the update to be available to all users. Download links across all locations will start pointing to the latest version once the rollout is complete.

Warm Regards

It seems that with the last several Photoshop Elements updates the only way to tell the update has been applied is from the Build number.

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/release-note/update.html

Looks like the download for the update is messed up.

After downloding it from the above page and running it, nothing changed with the build number or were any of the mentioned fixes applied.

This is on the Mac side.

That is what clued me in: the build number had not changed.   I realized quite some time ago the build number contains the date that build was finalized- typically two weeks before itls release date.

I think Adobe is probably in the course of still rolling out the 26.1 update. For example there is no mention yet on the UK page only on the US page (link posted by Jeff)

Normally updates are delivered automatically or when quitting the application depending on your pref settings. I guess it will take a little longer for Adobe to update the download links on that page and in your Adobe account - products tab. Until then, check out my YouTube Video for a sneak peek.
