Fix Painterly Guided Tool

I have had a dozen versions of Elements over the years and all have work great...The newer versions with the guided tools is a big pain in the ass as far as keeping things running...The Painterly Tool never works more than one or two times after doing a reset and that is a pain...How do I fix this issue perminatly?

    Hello Nancy....I understand how to use it and have used it a lot but.....
    I use it one time and then it fails to work after than...I have googled fixes and all point to

    reset the program...It will work after that once and then not work again...I have editing tools attached to elements that I use...NIK being one and Topaz being the other ...Do you think either of these cause the issue of Painterly not working??

    HOLD DOWN YOUR LEFT SHIFT KEY then Click on the icon you use to start the editor.   Answer YES when given the chance.   If it works then then you know the issue with the plug ins.
