I have a Mac, and had used Elements 11 for years, always being able to look at and edit or remove any past  edited versions of an image.  Now with my new Elements 2020, I am not able to expand to view those past versions.  I followed both the online Adobe manual and "Photoshop Elements 2020 for Dummies".  From the Editor Expert menu, I did a "save as" and checked "include in Elements Organizer" and "Save in Version Set with Original".  The Organizer (while in "Media" ) shows that the version set is indeed there.  But when I select that image, then select Edit (at top of screen), then "Version Set", it shows the "Expand items in Version Set" to be grayed out and not selectable.  This is not what the manual and the book say should happen.  What should I do to be able to select "Expand items in Version Set"?

Correct answer Greg_S.

Are you in Details view?  In Windows the keyboard shortcut is Ctrl+D.  I assume on the Mac it is Cmd+D.  Otherwise go to the View menu and make sure Details is checked.

Thank you very much. It worked, and I am now satisfied.
