For Sharing Files Are There Alternatives to Google Drive?

I'm using PSE 2020. I want to share about 40 files with someone so they can download them. Only problem is that in sending these photos by gmail, some are large files and Google says I have to use
Goggle Drive. To submit photos that way requires receiver to click on a link, which is not a problem. However, is there a better way than gmail and Google Drive for me to send these photos? Do I have to send each photo by itself? Is there another service I could use?For Should I just see if the receiver will accept a thumb drive? I use a MacBook Pro.

You could also use USPS, FedEx, or UPS to send a flash drive.

You can use Microsoft OneDrive. You can sign up for a FREE 5 GB account or, if you have Microsoft 365 software, you have a 1 TB OneDrive account included. You can install the OneDrive app on your phone and it will sync your photos to the cloud, and then the Elements Organizer can import photos from OneDrive.

I have often shared photos with family and friends via a OneDrive share. Here's a sample share link:

I actually did that for an old army friend after I put a bunch of his videos together, along with slide shows----it was something crazy like just under 40GB-- he sent it all to me on a thumb drive-- I fixed the videos, make the slide shows, and sent it back.

I do remember the days of splitting videos onto floppy discs....

Now that I have a faster internet speed I don't worry about big files any more. I used to have an upload speed of 176kB/sec..... now it's about 15MB/sec.

My go to for sharing videos? I upload it to my youtube channel. I mostly share silly things on fb, but youtube for everything else. I have some silly stuff on youtube.... mostly practicing 3D animation -- I upload the video thereand share the link... like this.

Drives are so cheap now- Amazon has a 4TB HHD one for just under $40---- Brand name SSD? 1TB about $50--- but of course those tend be relatively slow.

I have 3 or 4 ssd's just sitting in a desk drawer-- I could dump 500GB on one and mail it off in a heartbeat.

Bottom Line- Lots of ways to share files.

Beware of very cheap unbranded SSDs with high capacity. Believe it or not, there are many hardware fakes - plug it in, it seems to be a high capacity SSD; write to it... only when you try to read it back do you discover it's a fake disk...

Almost nobody can use email for serious graphics - even if you dont get a warning anything over 5MB could be blocked, and cause much grief to people reading email on their phone. But there are lots of different ways to share. Google Drive is good, and easy to use. So is DropBox. So is Wetransfer. Most of them allow you to upload a folder full of files. They can be downloaded one at a time, or all at once as a ZIP. You can also ZIP them yourself and upload the ZIP, which might be kindest.

If you are interested in upgrading to Elements 2023, it has its own 2GB free cloud service. You can upload directly from Elements and send a link to your images.
