I have 2020 installed.  If I dowload the trial of 2022 will it overwrite my current version?

No. Each version installs into its own folder. Once installed, you will have access to 2020 and 2022.

Many Elements users have many different versions installed.

FREE trial, isn't even free enough to use a card that doesn't have an avaialble balance. They literally do not offer a trial of any sort to you unless you hand over your personal bank account details and furthermore have it ran for authorization to ensure they can bill you at any time they choose. Therein lies a class action law suit while advertising free trial, fine print is not always and in the exact quantity of fine print isn't meant to be interpreted for a non-attorney or professional. The amount of contractual jargon resting under the bold and sales/marketing enlarged print of FREE TRIAL indicates pure deception and eludes the fact that they will be running your bank card for funds immediately where it clearly states "not billed until the trial is over". I will be looking into a class action because this is pure immoral deception by an industry champion that should not be threatened by following through with their bold and clearly labeled marketing strategy.

Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean, even after checking the translation into French, German or Italian.

I am not working for Adobe, I am just another PSE user like you. What I can tell is that like thousands of other users, I always start with the trial version instead of the regular one to avoid any incompatibility problem. With Elements (perpetual license / one-time purchase), you are NEVER asked you give your bank cards data.

What you are describing is the process for trial versions of Adobe subscription softwares like the Photographer's plan: only seven days and then you have to give your credentials.

So, I can imagine that in the purchasing or trial process, you have received popups of advertisements for subscription softwares (frequent in black friday period) and you have followed those offers instead of ignoring and continuing with the normal trial process. The installation goes on until you finally choose between the trial for 30 days or entering a purchased license number. For 30 days, you are reminded how many days are left for your trial. I have never got incompatibility with PSE versions in Windows. I have still old veresions installed and working since PSE6. For Mac users, the recent history shows that it's prudent to test the compatibility as well as verifying the system requirements when updating hardware or OS version.
