GDI - Generic 1.1.0

When I boot up PE 2018 running on a NEW [February 16, 2018] Dell XPS 27 using Windows 10 64Bits I get a message alerting me to use a better display driver than Microsoft's 'GDI generic 1.1.0'.   On February 18th I had a minor issue and while on with MS Support asked the MS Tech to upgrade/check my Image drivers, per the pop-up.  It is now set to both a Radeon RX470 Graphic Driver AND a "Microsoft Basic Display Adaptor" after the Tech put the computer through a full diagnostic examination and upgrade sequence.  I do not check in Preference "Use Graphics Processor for Video Playback" and I do nil video editing.  How do I eliminate the pop-up???

    Hi Harvey,

    Couple of queries here:

    1. Is slideshow feature working fine for you? If you havent tried, please select some media and click on 'slideshow' icon on bottom panel.
    2. Are you able to play videos/audios from your catalog?

If answer to both of above questions is yes, then there is nothing to worry about.

Regarding the display driver error, you can ignore it. As you mentioned, this error simply tells that the Microsoft/Intel display driver installed on your system is not the latest one. So till the point you are not updating your 'Microsoft Basic Display Adaptor'.

My recommendation is: if everything is working fine at your end then can safely ignore the warning.
