Question

Getting Raw into PSE8 from Nikon 750

I have been a semi-professional photographer for many years and using jpegs for weddings etc., but now I would like to at least try Raw, as I am for the first time trying to learn landscape photography.  I use PSE8 (but have several other later versions).

I wish to get the pictures into Organizer, but they will not load, showing 'Error'.  At present I have over 90,000 pictures in Organizer, and wish to keep everything there, if possible.

Could you please give an idiots guide, step by step, for an idiot like me?  If this is possible, will I be able to use the Editor?  I am presently shooting in RAW and Fine jpeg.

Many thanks,

Ian Julian

    Cameras supported by Camera Raw

Camera Raw plug-in and Adobe application compatibility

    • Raw files are unique and specific to every camera model
    • Adobe issues periodical updates to Camera Raw to keep up with different Raw file formats for each new camera
    • Different versions of Camera Raw are compatible with different versions of PSE
    • The Nikon D750 was first supported in Camera Raw 8.7 which is only compatible with Elements 13 and later
    • You'll never be able to open D750 Raw files in Elements 8. So, if you have Elements 13 or later, use that
    • Otherwise, you'll have to use the free Adobe DNG converter, batch convert all D750 Raw files to DNG format then edit the DNG files in PSE8.
