Grayed out thumbnails in Organizer

I am working with Elements 14 & Windows.  I wanted to clean up my files in Pictures so I consolidated several files, renamed them, and deleted some photos.  When I open Organizer there are grayed out thumbnails with question marks on them.  There are more than the number of photos I deleted... I think.

How can I correct my latest mess up.  Every day is a new learning experience!!

Thanks

    Hi Mark,

You can recover the files you renamed.

Just go to 'Edit > Preferences > Files' and enable the checkbox 'Automatically Search for and Reconnect Missing Files'.

In Organizer grid, double click the file grayed out and the file will be reconnected.
