Having lots of trouble with elements 12.

I use the box version of elements 12. I usually have no problems with it, but yesterday it told me that I had to liscense the software to continue using it even though it was purhased in full years ago. I've been using elements 12 for 2 years but have never encountered this problem and couldn't find a workaround, no matter what I did. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program but now it just won't boot up. I've done this several times and restarted my computer twice but nothing has worked. What is going wrong? My computer is on windows 10 and I've never had problems with elements 12 before.

Edit: I would also like to clarify that the installation went smoothly and nothing was wrong with the installation itself.
