Help with purchased .ai asset

Hello. Thank you for your help. I purchased the attached via my Adobe Stock subscription. I did so with the intention of setting it on top of another graphic I created to arrive at a final creation whereby my piece would have the "ripped or torn through" effect. I am hoping one can direct me step x step in achieving this outcome. I thank you for your time and assistance.
