History Panel in PSE 2024 Not Listing File Saves

I just went from PSE 14 to 2024 and one thing I noticed was that file saves are not listed in the 2024 History Panel as they were in 14. It has been very convenient for me to see when I have made these saves. I did both a Bing and a Google search of this and all I found was a reference to going to Preferences-General to make some sort of selection (which I didn't understand), but there was no such option in my 2024 build. Any thoughts about how to get file saves listed would be appreciated.

As far as i know, photoshop elements 14 is the only photoshop elements version

to show a Save As/Save step in the History panel.

Photoshop from the creative cloud does record the Save steps in the History panel.

Do you remember or can you point us to the web page that had the directions to which you refer?

Thank you very much for that information. Unfortunately I have tried to get back to that original internet search I made and can't find it again. I do remember that I was referred to Preferences-General. SInce PSE 2024 appears to function very much like I used 14, unless there are some hidden benfits I have not played with yet (I generally use Topaz for my more exotics need), buying 2024 may not have been a great idea for me. I really referred to Saves in the History Panel a lot and, frankly, I liked the UI of tools in 14 better than the supposed more "modern" black white look of tools in 2024 and the light vs dark UI. Anyway, thanks again.

The history panel keeps a record of edits- when the document is open. F10 shows the history panel. Once you close that document the history of edits goes away. The history panel does not show that a file is saved as you work on it, or when you are done working on it.

In PSE 14, as I was editing, and saving every few steps, the Save was shown in History where it happened in the list of edits. So if I wanted to go back to my last save or even a prior one, I knew exactly where to go. I want to work the same in PSE 2024. And, yes, when the file is closed, the History goes away, but not with just Saving. It seems crazy to get rid of this capability when it had been in a prior version and there is a clear benefit.
