How do I copy and layer a watermark that I already have saved as a png file? Just got adobe paintshop elements and it's completely different than the editing software I was using before. TIA

Save the original file with layers (as a psd or tiff) so that you can remove the watermark for your use.

Save the file to a flattened version with only one layer to make the watermark harder to remove.

Hi Christine.  There are several ways to perform this task in Elements.  Here is one way:

  1. Make sure you are in the Expert Mode.
  2. Open the photo and the .png watermark file.  They will both appear in the Photo Bin at the bottom of the screen.  Click on the Photo Bin button at the lower left, if it is not already visible.
  3. Select the photo you want to watermark so that it appears in the main window.  Then click and drag the .png file thumbnail from the Photo Bin to the main window.
  4. The png file will now be a layer in the file and you can move and resize it.
