How do i disable camera raw, I am trying to process bulk WEBP files and i have to deal with this large prompt everytime I import a webp or a jpeg on the PS v 27.4 ACR 18.2

This hasn't been an issue for me until today where suddenly after trying to import a JPG picture where it crashed my Photoshop now everything is importing through Camera Raw, I don’t want to process it through camera raw I have bulk to process and i’m not interested in clicking this prompt hundreds of times.

Ive disabled everything in the Camera Raw settings, Supposedly WEBP Was native to Photoshop since 23.2 and I stopped using WEBPShop years ago due to native support but now I’m forced to convert it through Camera Raw?
This doesn’t seem right.

I am thinking of rolling back my Photoshop version as resetting to defaults hasn’t achieved anything.

I have fixed this by Rolling back to Photoshop 2025 26.0
    Deleting Adobe Bridge
Deleting the camera raw folder in appData
Resetting all Camera Raw Preferences by holding CTRL ALT under Edit and clicking on Camera Raw Preferences
Using AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool to remove 18.2 and installed 14.5 of ACR
Disabled every preference in ACR 14.5 preferences

I refuse to install ACR 18.2 or any new Photoshop updates now.

Confirmed, updating Camera Raw eliminates the problem.

It appears to have been fixed with today’s update of ACR. The behavior is gone for me at least, right after updating. Thanks Adobe. Now if we can fix the error 191 can’t update Creative Cloud that has persisted for 5 years +

To call that a correct answer is an insult. It’s a ridiculous workaround to solve a completely manufactured problem that was up until now non-existent and should be fixed immediately by Adobe.

I really can’t stress how much I want Adobe to be sued into bankrupcy. Along with Microsoft, it must have the most incompetent QC testing teams - likely doesn’t have any at all, that is, and setting all of its paying users as an industry giant with just about every single ‘stable’ update should be suable. So much time and nerves lost every single day with Adobe apps. They should be paying us to use their sh...suite.

Im also enountering this today, annoying AF and disabling jpeg support doesn’t work. It’s been a problem with avif’s forever and now it’s crept into webp. So sick of ACR trying to insert itself into my workflow. Adobe FIX IT.

For jpegs you can go to the Camera Raw preferences>File Handling and disable Jpeg support.

For batch processing of WebP files you could use File>Scripts>Image Processor from within Photoshop or Tools>Photoshop>Image Processor from within Bridge.

What? How about Adobe fix this error. This is ridiculous to be suggesting workarounds rather than fixing the error.

I believe it’s the 18.2 Camera Raw plugin that is the cause and not the Photoshop 24.7 update since older Photoshop versions with Camera Raw 18.2 also open WebP files into Camera Raw 18.2.

I do a lot of automated processing of webp images, and this update completely destroyed my scripts and my workflow.  The only way I was able to work around it was to roll back to Photoshop 27.3.1 and Camera Raw 14.5.

Are you talking about photoshop elements, or photoshop?   A screenshot or two always helps when explaining things.
